About

Eric is a 3rd-year Computer Science student and a former peer mentor for Western's first-year programming labs. He tutors exactly two courses, COMPSCI 1026 (Python) and COMPSCI 1027 (Java), with a simple philosophy: you learn to code by writing code, so sessions are hands-on from minute one. He is especially good with students who have never programmed before and with assignment-style problem solving that stays on the right side of academic integrity.

Student reviews

I'd never written a line of code before this course. Eric got me from zero to comfortable with loops and functions in three sessions.

Linked lists and recursion were destroying me. Eric drew everything out box-by-box until it actually made sense. Aced the final.

Great at explaining without just giving you the answer. My assignment marks went way up because I finally understood what I was writing.
